Our LEDs are primarily used for indicator lamps and traffic lights, but we also undertake the production of other products.
Photodiode
Photodiodes are components that are very similar to light-emitting diodes.
The biggest difference between the two in terms of manufacturing is the chip, and there are no major differences in other areas such as the leads and lens resin.
Therefore, photodiodes can essentially be manufactured in almost the same way as regular LED manufacturing processes.
However, because photodiodes and light-emitting diodes have opposite functions, the inspection equipment for performance is very different. We only own inspection equipment for LEDs, so at present we are only contracted to manufacture photodiodes.
Light source for optical fiber
The fastest and most reliable way to transmit electrical signals is to convert them into light and transmit them through a tube called an optical fiber.
Tricon has experience designing and manufacturing LEDs made of special resin shapes as light sources for optical fibers.
One area where optical fiber is attracting attention is electric vehicles.
Electric vehicles are equipped with multiple powerful motors that drive the tires, and are densely packed with complex electrical circuits and computers to generate the great power to move them and provide precise control.
Optical fiber is lighter than metal wire, is almost unaffected by electricity and magnetism, and is capable of high-speed communication, making electric vehicles lighter and enabling faster, more reliable operation.
In reality, optical fiber is used not only in electric vehicles but in many other products, and Tricon produces some of these.
We have the flexible know-how and advanced technology to produce these unusual products.
